Hey there,

Good article, I like your analyses of the characters themselves. I'd like to chip in another dissenting voice about the Overmind/Zeratul side of it, that was the real sour taste in my mouth more than anything else. The core Terran story was okay but flawed IMO. That other side was awful, and something I feel will ruin the next two installments if they continue with it.

In one go they seem to be wrecking so much of the established world: the Zerg aren't a monstrous, all-devouring swarm as we know and love them, they're just poor helpless slaves; the Overmind isn't a mighty conquerer driven to have his race consume all before them, he's a courageous victim; Tassadar didn't make a brave ultimate sacrifice, he never really died and can pop back whenever it's convenient; Kerrigan isn't the queen badass of the universe, she's the saviour of us all, the Overmind's home-made Jesus Christ.

The Zerg have always been my favourite race, and Blizzard now seem determined to strip them of everything that made them so. I'm really worried about Heart of the Swarm.

I stopped watching 'Terra Nova' because I had a feeling it might get cancelled. To get wrapped up into a show that seems based on payoffs with little promise of them actually happening would bother me more than forgoing a season long burst of mediocre entertainment.

Btw - do you know the story of David Eddings? It is one I have recently read that reminds me of you. He was a playwright and after no luck for a good while (at least no long term luck) decided to delve into other forms of writing including switching categories and ended up writing fantasy (my fav). He is not the best fantasy writer I have ever read but I have still read almost all of his books... for me he is acquired taste. Great stories but sometimes they slow down (to many details about boring things) but they are steady enough that I keep reading. I don't think your talent compares, just your story. Your stories always leave me devouring them with eagerness & quickly. I always want more and very disappointed that I cannot read more... you have a fan!

The information you have shared about the upcoming release of comics is entertaining and enjoyable. I sent you a message on fb on writing for examiner. Granted they prefer that you can write w/out the 1st person - but personally I think things are more interesting when people do & have noticed a trend that most people these days in professional print media appeal to readers by writing in 1st person... so that is why I do not currently write for examiner (that stipulation irritated me).

You present relevant information on the subject matter and tell not just your opinion but why you have that opinion.

I would love it if you would continue to review comics but venture into the unknown and pick up things that are not 'a-typical.' For example I have all of the 'Y the last man' series (umm, afraid you might ripe it to shreds - but I found it entertaining... admittedly I am easily entertained). I am collecting Fables - which I love. Picking old school comics that can still be found to purchase. I borrowed all of the Sandman comics and would love to add them to my personal collection someday. Currently I am collecting The Dark Tower by Stephen King but only have 2 issues and have managed to read only the 1st (school).

Maybe adding or considering what audience might enjoy even if you don't -- if it is horrid we would want to know but maybe just not interesting but geared toward... women? I like the who things appeal to (new readers vrs old) but in my scenario you might be reviewing something that is brand new.

Rating them based on age of child level. I noticed you let your son read comics... how old is he again? Age appropriate mindfulness would create ease for parents who place great stigma on violence, suggestiveness, etc in their kids lives (we all have levels, some are more extreme than others).

Anyway, I think you could make this at least a monthly article of interest! I know I would read them, I am always looking for new stuff to read. This includes books as well!!

I don't really watch TV very much anymore. I have netflix so I stopped caring what is new and good. That is not to say there is not a great audience that your writing in that field --- just maybe review what is new to netflix (therefore already has a full season to watch) and worth the time/investment because it will probable be sticking around! This will grab many of the people in my camp and you have a whole series (no spoilers - make sure to caution against these - I HATE spoilers) to draw assumptions/conclusions from.

Sorry I write in long form as well. You are a fab writer - I read ALOT and you have the talent. I have said for years that you squandering it because you are so fixated on getting into only one type of market! You just need to get your voice heard!!! I am proud of you for writing in comic form (trying something new for your audience) and I might know some people who can help make that happen if you trust me to submit your material for consideration (when you have something to give). I would love to see your stories in "print."

I have a girlfriend who generates about 1000-1500 a month in writing - granted it is not giant stacks of money but she has taken something she loves to do and gets PAID for it. You have the potential of being something great... if only you can get noticed and produce something where you can develop a following.

The comic book has promise! Can't wait to read it :D
